October is Fundraising Month at Sibley!
Well, it's certainly been an exciting year at the Sibley Bike Depot! Every day, our shop is crowded with energetic hands tinkering with brakes, tweaking derailleurs, oiling chains, and keeping bikes greased and happy. With your support, we can ensure that Sibley Bike Depot stays open and free to the public, providing many valuable resources to promote bicycling as an ecologically sustainable and personally empowering transportation option.
Community Partners Bike Library receives federal funding!!
***Exciting news at the Sibley Bike Depot!!
Sibley Bike Depot received funding in full last Tuesday for a nearly $200,000 program to run the Community Partners Bike Library! The funds were approved by Transit for Livable Communities, a not-for-profit transit advocacy group in charge of allocating a $21 million federal Non-motorized Transit Pilot program in the Twin Cities. In the final round of funding allocations, TLC decided to focus more on grassroots education programs that promote bicycling, on the ground, in communities that are often left our of mainstream bicycle planning.
