Bicycle Donations

Cycles for Change regularly donates bicycles to different organizations. For info on donating bikes TO us, go here.

If your organization needs bikes for your community, a fundraiser, or anything else, we may be able to help. We donate a limited number of bikes per year on a first come, first served basis. We are not able to deliver bikes; your organization will need to arrange a time to pick them up from our shop. We do not donate bikes to individuals. If you need a bike for yourself, we sell used bikes and also have a free Earn-a-Bike program.

This is a list or our ideals for donating bikes. Each request will be evaluated individually and your organization need not exactly meet every point:

• Request comes from a small non-profit or community based organization.
• Organization is led by people of color.
• Organization shares Cycles for Change’s values such as education, empowerment, community and   sustainability.
• Organization is located in the Frogtown or Summit-U neighborhoods.
• The bikes are going to people who would otherwise have difficulty acquiring them.
• Cycles for Change has a mutually beneficial relationship with the organization or anticipates having one.
• The request is for unfixed kids bikes, unfixed adult bikes, or only 1-3 fixed bikes; or the organization can supply skilled volunteers for a volunteer night for larger requests.
• The request is submitted at least 3 weeks before the bikes are needed
