What is Sibley Bike Depot?

Sibley Bike Depot is a not-for-profit community bike shop and volunteer run organization.

"Change the model, change the outcome." So says John Carlson, a committed board member from the last several years.

Sibley is in the process of shifting our organization to a more community-based, volunteer run model. The goal is to make our organization more participatory, open, and democratic so that we are more accountable and accessible to our new community in the Frogtown neighborhood on University Avenue.

Starting this Spring, all shop hours will be staffed primarily by volunteer board members. Sibley will continue to use paid staff; however, we are working to more clearly and precisely define job roles, with the hope of making all lines of accountability more clear.

With that it mind, we need your input, time, and energy to help make this happen! We would like to expand our shop hours beyond three days, but to do this we need YOU to come and help staff one shift (3-5 hours) per week! Talk to Sibley board members for more information.
